A short distance from Princeton, the New Jersey Shore is a year-round destination for many local residents and visitors. The shoreline is 127 miles long, with sandy beaches, ocean swimming, and towns with boardwalks and amusements. From the casinos and nightlife of Atlantic City to the more family-oriented towns of Avalon and Ocean City, there are many different ways to enjoy the New Jersey Shore.

Some of the more popular attractions in the area include Barnegat Light at the north end of Long Beach island; Monmouth Battlefield State Park, site of a 1778 battle in the Revolutionary War; and Island Beach State Park, a 10-mile long undeveloped barrier island, good for swimming, surf fishing, hiking, and viewing wildlife.

From Princeton, it's easiest to get to the New Jersey Shore by car, but train and bus service is also available.
