The Room Draw process for the 2024-2025 Academic Year will begin in mid-November 2023.  This adjustment to the schedule allows students to fully reap the benefit of adding Meadows Apartments to the graduate housing inventory and supports the spring term 2024 occupancy of Meadows for those students successful in Room Draw. 

The Room Draw process for the 2024 -2025 Academic Year will include the Graduate College, Annexes, Edwards Place locations, Lakeside Apartments, Lawrence Apartments and Meadows Apartments.   

The policy concerning renewals has changed to extend the housing renewal process to G3s.  Renewals will be done online again this year, and will become available on November 15, 2023.

Please read the following if you wish to renew your contract:

Students who will receive an automatic offer:

• G1s, G2s and G3s in studio or 1 bedroom apartments
• G1s, G2s or G3s with spouses or domestic partners in 2 bedroom apartments
• Families with children in any size apartment

Students who need to submit a renewal form:

• G1s, G2s and G3s with eligible roommates in shared apartments (2, 3, or 4 bedroom apartments).  Students can only renew fully occupied apartments.  Vacancies can be filled by naming any G1, G2, or G3 on the renewal form. 
• G1s, G2s and G3s in the GC or Annexes, regardless of room type (students in singles in the GC or annexes must submit a Renewal form to receive a renewal offer)

Students who are eligible for pre-draw renewal or want to pull in students to become eligible for pre-draw renewal need to complete the following steps:

• Fill out a Renewal online by December 1, 2023.
• Specify any students to pull in to fill any vacancies (1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students only)
• Applications will be reviewed and contracts will be sent out for student signature
• All apartment renewal contracts must begin on July 1.
• All new residents filling vacancies in a renewal unit will most likely start July 21st or later, unless the apartment is ready for a July 1 start date. Every effort will be made to keep pulled-in occupants in their current residence until they can move in to their future unit.

All eligible students participating in renewal must login to My Housing for Graduates to accept their contract offer. Renewal offers are sent December 20, 2023 and must be accepted by 5:00pm on December 27, 2023. Offers that are not accepted by the deadline will be cancelled. Various construction projects to support the University’s goals of expanding its student body and achieving carbon neutrality by 2046 will be underway during academic year 2024-25. The following projects should be considered as you select your room for the upcoming academic year.

General Construction Note

Construction activities will occur between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays. Construction traffic will primarily utilize Elm Drive for deliveries and removal of material. Pedestrian and ADA pathways will be subject to incremental re-routing which will be coordinated with those impacted. Princeton University Art Museum, PUAM (areas impacted: Edwards, Brown Hall, Dod Hall, 1903 Hall)

Miscellaneous landscape and hardscape installation will continue into the fall. This project is scheduled to complete construction by Fall 2024 with museum and artwork installations continuing (by the Art Museum) into the Spring 2025, when the opening of the Museum is anticipated.

Hobson College (areas impacted: Patton, Wright, Cuyler, Walker, Feinberg, Yoseloff, 1967, 1976, Bogle, Wilf, Bloomberg)

During Summer 2024, construction of the foundation structure will commence along with geo-exchange lateral pipe installation. Winter 2024 will bring steel structural erection that will continue through Spring 2025 alongside the installation of the exterior envelope which will include framing, roofing, exterior closure, and exterior glass. (Please note that a sidewalk bridge will be installed along Goheen Walk for pedestrian protection.)

Meadows Apartments

After the Meadows Apartments open, there will still be construction taking place to complete other areas of the Meadows Neighborhood.

Opening during Spring 2024!  The Meadows Apartments includes three residential apartment buildings consisting of 604 beds in 379 housing units. The buildings are three stories tall, with one story space dedicated to a community center and Café.  The new housing complex for graduate students is located within the 85-acre Meadows Neighborhood.
