Fire Safety

Description

Fire Safety and the Use of Exterior Elevated Surfaces

Policies governing fire safety and the use of exterior elevated surfaces on campus buildings are intended to prevent injuries to members of the University community and physical damage to facilities.

Inspections

Dormitory and annex rooms are inspected periodically and at random times to ensure compliance with University regulations. The University is serious about regulations that cover fire safety and the use of exterior elevated surfaces and does not hesitate to take disciplinary action on the first offense. Such action may include a fine imposed by Housing and Real Estate Services.

The University has the right to require students who violate these safety rules to vacate their accommodations with no financial credit for the remainder of the semester. For clarification of any safety violation, contact the Housing Inspection Office at [email protected].

You should read and become familiar with the fire safety policies, solutions, and fines posted in the following sections of this website.
